01

Who we are and this policy

VerityX Lab Sdn. Bhd. registration number 202401025932 (1571781-K), referred to as VerityX Lab, we, us, or our, is a Malaysian company. This Privacy Policy applies to our public website and the business portal made available to invited business representatives.

We handle personal data in accordance with applicable Malaysian law, including the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). Where we collect or use personal data, we do so for the purposes described here, with consent where required or appropriate, and otherwise as permitted by applicable law.

02

Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us. Please do not include information in a public contact enquiry or idea submission unless you are comfortable sharing it with us for the relevant purpose.

  • Contact enquiries: name, business name, email address, phone number, and the details you choose to send.
  • Startup and partnership ideas: contact and company details, alongside the business sensitive free text, concepts, requirements, and materials you submit.
  • Invited portal representatives: business contact and account authentication information, onboarding and company information, and details required to administer your authorised access.
  • Project and portal records: project, milestone, schedule, update, feedback, communication, and other records created in connection with a portal or engagement.
  • Operational records: customer relationship management records, and security and audit logs such as IP address, account activity, and access events.

03

How we use information

We use information to respond to enquiries and submissions, assess potential work or partnerships, set up and administer invited portal access, deliver and manage services, communicate about projects, maintain our internal client records, protect our website and systems, investigate misuse, and meet legal, regulatory, accounting, or professional obligations.

We may process information with your consent where that is the appropriate basis, to take steps connected with a requested or contracted service, to meet legal obligations, or for legitimate business purposes permitted by law, such as operating, securing, and improving our services. Not every collection point uses a separate consent checkbox.

04

Sharing, service providers, and transfers

We do not sell or rent personal data. We use privacy-conscious website analytics to understand page visits and meaningful interactions, such as opening an enquiry channel. These analytics do not include the name, email address, phone number, message text, or other free-form content entered into an enquiry, and we do not use advertising cookies to profile visitors or deliver advertising.

We may disclose relevant information to service providers that support our email delivery, hosting, database, communications, or service operations. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, insurers, auditors, or legal authorities where reasonably necessary, required by law, or needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Some recipients or infrastructure may process information outside Malaysia. Where cross border processing occurs, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate safeguards for the circumstances. International processing can involve different legal protections, and we cannot guarantee that protections will be identical in every location.

05

Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures intended to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No online service or transmission can be completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate an engagement or account, resolve issues, meet legal or record keeping obligations, or protect our rights. Retention will vary by record type and context. We may delete, aggregate, or de identify information when it is no longer needed.

06

Your rights under the PDPA

Subject to applicable law and identity verification, you may ask to access or correct personal data we hold about you, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or raise a complaint about our handling of your personal data. Withdrawal does not affect processing already undertaken and may affect our ability to provide a requested service or maintain an account.

To make a request, email us using the details below and describe the request clearly. We may need information to verify your identity and may respond in accordance with the PDPA and other applicable requirements. You may also lodge a complaint with the relevant Malaysian data protection authority.

07

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices, services, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the date above. Your continued use of the website or portal after publication is subject to the then current policy to the extent permitted by law.
